March 1 Marks DHS 10-Year Anniversary (3/1/13)
The White House recognized the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 10-year anniversary March 1.
DHS was formed after the tragic events of Sept. 11 with a single task: keeping the American people safe. “And in a decade marked by national emergencies and natural disasters, the department has invested in communities nationwide, improving our preparedness for times of crisis,” a statement from President Barack Obama said.
