TIA Releases P25 Document (2/4/10)

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) released TIA-102.AABF-B link control word formats and messages, updating a Project 25 (P25) standard.

TIA-102.AABF-B addresses an urgent need for technical information on the emerging digital techniques for LMR service. The standard defines the formats and messages for link control words for both conventional and trunked systems using the P25 FDMA Common Air Interface (CAI). Link control words are code words that encode nine octets of information that may be embedded within voice messages or separated into voice terminators. These definitions are necessary to insure interoperability of radio units.
